Andy Scott’s three-movement Sonata for Flute and Harp<\/em>, is for flute and pedal harp (and has also been arranged by the composer for alto saxophone and pedal harp<\/a>). Influenced by Eastern European folk rhythms and jazz harmony, the writing calls for extended techniques and timbres, including using the harp as a percussion instrument to create rhythmic intensity.
