Japanese Folksongs for the Small Harp<\/em> contains 23 Japanese folk songs and lullabies, originating from the Koto literature tradition, transcribed from Koto tablature and arranged by Deborah Dahl Shanks for solo lever or pedal harp. The arrangements are appropriate for a small lever harp with 1 octave below middle C and tuned to Eb or C. The songs, which include the popular \u201cSakura,\u201d are very accessible and appropriate for mid-beginner to intermediate players with limited or easy lever changes and endeavor to remain true to the sound of the Koto zither.
