In our time when forests and the habitat of birds are endangered, my focus is on the woodlands. This resting heart rate music is appropriate for providing comfort and relaxation. The inset on the cover is my watercolor painting, <em>Bluebird on Flame Azalea<\/em>, both of which are native to North Carolina. It includes two melodies: one from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, collected by John Jacob Niles, and another from England, collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams in the early 1900s.
