It then moves into three variations titled \u201cBehind the Mask,\u201d exploring the contrasting emotions the mask made possible.<br \/>\nVariation 1: Formality\u2014a stately Renaissance-style dance<br \/>\nVariation 2: Desire\u2014the hidden passion of anonymous encounters<br \/>\nVariation 3: Liberation\u2014the freedom to cast aside social restraint<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"950\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">A final section, \u201cFlying with Joy,\u201d brings the work to an exuberant close, as if the angel soars once more above the piazza.
