Potts played the tune on his album\u00a0<em>The Liffey Banks<\/em>\u00a0(1972), but there is some disagreement about how much of the tune he composed and how much was derived from other sources. Going back to\u00a0<em>Ryan\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0<em>Mammoth Collection<\/em>\u00a0<em>1050 Reels and Jigs<\/em>\u00a0(1883) \u201cSkin the Peeler\u201d had quite a different tone. In this arrangement, the two slip jigs are merged to bring out a more likable, melancholy and dissonant character.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frances M.
