What is less well known it is that it is actually based on a much longer piece called <em>Pig Ankles: A Grotesque Intermezzo<\/em> by the American composer Mamie E Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Mamie E. Williams was one of a number of female composers of ragtime music during the late 19th and early 20th century, a time when this genre was wildly popular. She worked in a department store in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as being a piano and organ teacher.<\/p>\n<p>This arrangement is fairly fast paced, but it is well worth putting in the practice to get it up to speed.
