An old ballad from northern Scotland, the gorgeous melody was featured in Max Bruch&#8217;s 1880 &#8220;Scottish Fantasia\u201d violin concerto. This slow and expressive arrangement includes a few Scottish snaps and builds to a climax in the second verse with octaves in the melody. The left hand plays stately chords and arpeggios that reach up to a 10th.
