The words of the lullabies, printed inside the cover of each part, give insight to a mother’s feelings as she rocks her child. For instance, in the Basque lullaby the mother sings, “At the gates of heaven they give away shoes, for the little barefooted angels to use.” In the Guatemalan lullaby the mother sings, “Oh close your eyes, my baby, for I have things to do. For two lever or pedal harps, A Mother’s Heart<\/em> by Shari Pack is a medley of four traditional lullabies from around the world. The arrangement includes a Basque lullaby, a Latvian lullaby, a Guatemalan lullaby, and an English lullaby. Each melody is presented twice with interesting accompaniment patterns in both harp parts.
