This hymn was likely written for a prayer service held in 1541 in Wittenberg against the perceived danger of the Turks. Grix uses rolled chords, octaves, and arpeggios in this arrangement to enhance the evocative melodies. Although this arrangement was composed for pedal harp, it can be easily adapted to lever harp by playing both treble and bass clef notes with the right hand and moving the lever with the left when a lever change is necessary.
