This tune was first published c. 1730 in Scotland by Daniel Wright, under the title ‘Lashley’s March’, but a
\nversion can be found in a manuscript collection dating from 1694. It was later scored for harp and uilleann
\npipes by William Reeve for the pantomine Oscar and Malvina<\/em> which was first performed in London in
\n1791. That pantomine was staged many times and featured the playing of Irish uilleann piper O’Farrell for a
\nnumber of years. This tune also appeared in later collections including O’Farrell’s Pocket Companion for the Irish or Union Pipes volume 1 (1806) and Edward Bunting’s 1840 volume of Ancient Music of Ireland and
