Notes from the arranger
This is a wonderful old carol in D minor with a time-signature of 6/8 that keeps it steadily rollicking along. The existence of both C sharps and C naturals means there’s going to be a certain amount of lever or pedal changing (though I’ve notated alternative bars in the melody-only part for those who might find that awkward). The melody itself isn’t difficult, but more dexterous players with a good, light feel for rhythm will be needed for the “Counterweave” (Harp 2), particularly, and for the last part of the “Descant” (Harp 3) in verse 3.
