Notes from the arranger

Most beginner pupils want to play carols from November onwards, but a lot of them still find reading music difficult. So I’ve presented each of the twelve carols in this book in three ways: (a) melody only in letter-names, (b) melody only in conventional notation, and (c) a simple arrangement with melody and harmony so that players with a little more experience can also benefit. Additionally, I’ve provided audio tracks so that our harpists can join in playing along with an ensemble. What’s more, each carol has two audio versions: one with melody and full harmony, and one with the melody taken out so that the harpist can be the solo melody player with the ensemble.
