Carrickfergus (violin and harp)

Serena O’Meara’s arrangement of the traditional Irish tune “Carrickfergus” is for lever or pedal harp and violin. This tune is named after the town north of Belfast. O’Meara says the lyrics of the tune “tell of a nostalgic person missing his homeland and wishing he could move back” to Carrickfergus. The violin plays the beautiful ballad melody while the harp flows through arpeggiated interludes replicating the sounds of waves from the sea.
