Laura Zaerr’s Adrift is for lever or pedal harp and organ. Lever harpists will need to make minimal changes to the score. On the piece, Zaerr says “the curragh is tossed and thrown about by wild waves, its sole passenger helpless to guide its course through the reckless weather. We are each alone as we face the currents of life. All our edifice of friends, family and social context are ultimately only an illusion as we are set adrift upon uncharted seas.”
