3.4/5 stars- I downloaded the Waltz of the Flowers for Violin and Harp hoping to find a version with more harp. It is arranged well, with most pedal markings in. However, there are a lot of strange sounding harmonies for the harp part (which can be seen in the preview). Besides the beginning, cadenza, and one melodic section, the harp takes a backseat by being the accompaniment for the violin for most of the piece. I was hoping that there would be more harp solos or parts that are more “harpistic,” especially because the target audience of HCM is mostly harpists.
It’s a good arrangement for harpists who just want to be the accompaniment, but I had other expectations. For those of you interested in deviating, it would probably be better to download the violin and piano arrangement for free off IMSLP and making your own solo parts of of that.
