Brahms’s Hungarian Dance no. 4

Elizabeth Volpé Bligh has edited the orchestral harp part for Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance no. 4.” “The original is highly pianistic and does not work well at the high speeds which are usually taken,” says Volpé Bligh. “I used this edition frequently in the orchestra, and there were no complaints. Though the harp is frequently inaudible in recordings, it comes out well in this version.”
