Eira Lynn Jones’ arrangement of Esther Swift’s Time Spinner is for solo pedal harp. This piece was commissioned by Jones in memory of her student and colleague, Scottish harpist Helen MacLeod. The three different sections of the piece are meant to represent her soul, her smile, and her zest for life. Jones says “an atmospheric opening melody makes way for a folk-influenced dance tune ending with a fiesta of glissandos. This is a brilliant new piece for the pedal harp repertoire and one to inspire the next generation of players.”
