My goal as a teacher is to foster a love of the harp in all of my students! My experience performing in many different ensembles has shown me that everyone comes from a different background in music, and they need to have individualized lesson plans to cater to them. I love to share my passion every day with students that I teach! Whether my student's goal is to play popular tunes or to become a harpist professionally I am happy to assist them on their musical journey. I have graduated with my Masters in Music Harp Performance degree studying under Dr. Anna Pike and Dr. Jaclyn Wappel. I also previously graduated with honors at Florida State University with a Bachelors of Music in Harp Performance degree studying under Professor Mary Brigid Roman. Before college I went to a performing arts middle school and high school which allowed me to hone my craft at an early age. While in high school I received Master Certification in Harp Performance which required courses in music theory, harp lessons, and ensemble playing. While attending high school I took lessons with both Pamela Irwin in group harp ensemble and I took private lessons with Dr. Sue Carol DeVale.
Over my career I have played with orchestras, musicals, operas, played solo recitals, performed at gigs, and have taught many students! Harp is my true passion and I love sharing that passion with others!
I teach many beginner students that have no experience with the harp or with any other instrument. I do not require piano experience or to be able to read sheet music, but my students have to be willing to learn! I teach to students of all experience levels.
