Kimberly Rowe

Kimberly Rowe serves on the faculty of prominent music programs such as Curtis Summerfest, theNational Music Festival, and the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar, which she co-founded in 2002. She is founder of the harp program at the Music Preparatory Division of Temple University, and adjunct faculty at Temple’s Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance. As a nationally recognized harp instructor, Kimberly Rowe was a finalist nominee in the innagural Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Ovation Award for music educators in 2014. She currently serves on the faculty of prominent music programs such as Curtis Summerfest, theNational Music Festival, and the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar, which she co-founded in 2002. She heads the harp program at the Music Preparatory Division of Temple University, where she also teaches undergraduate students at Temple’s Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance. Under her direction, the  Temple Music Prep Youth Harp Ensemble has as performed by invitation at the American Harp Society National Conference in New York City, the International Festival de Harpe in Ancenis, France, the Mid-Atlantic Harp Festival in McLean, Va., the Festival de la Harpe, in Princeton, NJ., and at Commonwealth Plaza of the Kimmel Center.

Kimberly Rowe’s private teaching studio includes some of the Philadelphia area’s most talented young harpists; students have been members of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra, the Rowan University Youth Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Sinfonia, the Delaware All-State Orchestra, the new Jersey All State Orchestra, the All-South Jersey Regional Orchestra, the Delaware County Youth Orchestra, and the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra. Her students have attended prestigious summer programs such as the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar, Interlochen Arts Camp, National Music Festival, and the Saratoga Harp Colony. Many have gone on to pursue harp careers at schools such as Temple University, Boston Conservatory, Rice University, and the Curtis Institute of Music, among others. Her students have been consistent prize winners at local and national competitions of the American Harp Society, as well as reaching the final stages of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Greenfield Competition and the Young Artist’s Harp Competition. Many students have pursued careers outside of harp, such as engineering, musicology, and missionary work, while continuing to keep the harp an important part of their lives.
