Colleen Potter Thorburn

I offer private lessons in piano and harp for students of all ages, 5 to 70+. I teach out of my home studio in Conway Arkansas, and at the University of Central Arkansas. I have taught children as young as 5 and as young-at-heart as 75. Piano and/or English reading experience is preferred prior to starting harp lessons, but is not always essential. I strive to help each student, beginner and advanced alike, to develop a personal, critical approach toward music as a vehicle for creative communication, while simultaneously developing a relaxed and reliable playing technique.

Students from both French and Salzedo backgrounds are welcome! Although I teach primarily French technique, I try not to interfere with any elements of a student's technique that are already working well for them. Students from both backgrounds have successfully made progress into intermediate and advanced-level repertoire in my studios.
