Deb, have you considered letting your kids take out a small loan for their education? We just had two in school very recently so I really get what this all means to family finances. Consider the idea that your students might benefit with small loans looming. They will value their education and the sacrifices their parents are making all the more if they are stake holders in the process. It is almost time for the dreaded FAFSA but who knows if money shows up there. It is at least worth checking out especially knowing no money is due ’till after graduation.
