I am pretty sure that the video/dvd is available from harp.com. As for
Salzedo, he was a man of his times, the Modern era. His notation is
quite clear, and is much more than just “glissandi” if you read his
Modern Study and Method. What is conveyed by seeing and hearing is the
best tone quality that the effects can result in. What is interesting
is how fresh and modern and appealing his music sounds today, as it
grows and grows in popularity. His notation succeeds largely because it
is so well-thought out and well-designed. And his sounds work well in
the hands of others. He was not the only composer able to use them. Nor
was his young friend Marcel Grandjany.
