At CCPA, Music Conservatory students are given the opportunity to work with top-tier faculty members who are members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago. With an average studio size of four, students receive individual attention and unique chances to harbor professional connections and establish themselves in the heart of the Chicago arts scene.
Students will receive weekly private lessons and studio class including guest artist master classes and workshops focusing on a wide range of skills including harp maintenance, pedagogy, business development, and audition prep.
Orchestral Studies Program:
The Chicago College of Performing Arts offers an Orchestral Studies program to train orchestral performers to the highest professional standards. CCPA is uniquely positioned to offer this program, having more than 25 members of the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera orchestras on the faculty – half of whom are principals.
The intense training of this program includes private lessons, studio class, excerpt lessons, weekly mock audition class, master classes, weekly seminars, participation in symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, wind ensemble, chamber music, harp ensemble and development of professional involvement in the Chicago arts community.
