Harp lessons are available to any student who is interested, beginning through advanced intermediate – performance opportunities are provided on and off campus with a harp gathering each semester (solos and ensembles).
Luther is committed to the idea that music is important in the lives of all students. Any student, regardless of major, is eligible to audition for an ensemble or take applied lessons. More than 800 musicians (250 majors) study with our faculty and perform in outstanding venues on campus, across the nation, and throughout the world. The music department presents over 160 performances and recitals each year. Multiple orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber music opportunities available.
Harp students prepare for performances with choir, orchestra, chamber ensemble, harp ensemble, band, Christmas at Luther, as well as national and international tours. Music theory, ear-training, an artistic focus in harp repertoire and history, as well as technique training are covered in lessons and in harp class.
